The Tutanita's Story

Tutanita’s Street Food is a heartfelt tribute to Carolina’s mother, inspired by the flavours and traditions she carried from the village of Tuta in Boyacá, Colombia. Growing up, Carolina watched her mother craft each empanada and arepa with care, using time-honoured recipes passed down through generations. Every bite tells a story of home—crispy, golden empanadas filled with seasoned meats and mushroom, and handmade arepas with the perfect balance of softness and crunch with a cheesy centre. These are the flavors that shaped Carolina’s childhood, now shared with every customer who walks through our doors.

The name Tutanita carries deep meaning, a term of endearment Carolina’s father used for her mother—mi Tutanita. This business is a tribute to her legacy, celebrating the warmth, resilience, and love she poured into her cooking. At Tutanita’s Street Food, we honour those traditions by keeping every ingredient fresh, every recipe authentic, and every meal made with the same care that Carolina’s mother put into feeding her family.

Welcome to a taste of Boyacá, made with love.
